What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

This is the telly everyone will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Captain Phillips (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Otherwise known as the film that birthed the legendary “I’m the captain now” GIF. This Oscar-nominated drama tells the story of an American cargo ship being hijacked by Somali pirates. It’s tense, it’s high stakes and properly entertaining.

Don’t Tell The Bride (E4, 9pm)

Don’t Tell The Bride – the UK version, mind – is back with a new series on E4. As usual, grooms are given £14,000 to plan a wedding while the brides are kept in the dark. Reality television at its finest. #dttb

Against The Law (BBC Two, 9pm)

This BBC drama tells the story of the 1954 Wildeblood scandal, which saw a journalist named Peter Wildeblood imprisoned on charges of homosexuality.

Everyone’s talking about… Usher

Usher was the latest celebrity to take part in an installment of Carpool Karaoke. He sang songs like Yeah and Let It Burn, and taught James Corden some slick moves.

PEACE UP, A-TOWN.

Or flick over for…

  • Rock And A Hard Place (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) In which Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson visits prisons.
  • Bad Neighbours (Film Four, 9pm) Comedy starring Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne.
  • Wild Alaska Live (BBC One, 8pm) A sneaky glimpse into Alaskan wildlife fronted by our very own Liz Bonnin.
  • The Windsors (Channel 4, 10pm) Sitcom ripping the piss out of the Royal Family.
  • Food Unwrapped (Channel 4, 8.30pm) Where do coloured crisps get their colour? Food Unwrapped investigates (and likely puts you off junk food for life.)
